Shelly to The Park: One Day, One Message—Peace
Baton Rouge, LA – Yesterday was a powerful example of what community looks like when people come together with purpose. The day began on Shelly Street with Front Yard Conversations, an event sponsored by Someone Always Cares Foundation. The initiative brought positive energy, youth engagement, and educational resources directly to residents’ front yards—creating space for real conversations about peace, safety, and unity.
While out on Shelly, the Brothers were in full motion distributing The Final Call Newspaper and spreading a message focused on stopping the violence in our neighborhoods. One of the day’s most memorable moments came when a young person challenged Brother Eugene’s skills—saying he couldn’t throw anymore. That’s all it took. The jacket and bowtie came off, and Eugene was all in—bringing laughter and energy to the block.
The day continued in The Park, where the outreach mission stayed strong. While engaging with residents, the Brothers linked up with none other than @sylvestersavoy—Squilleo the Goatilio—a true legend in the community. His presence reminded everyone that greatness lives among us and that every moment of connection matters.
From Shelly Street to The Park, it was a day filled with intention, love for the people, and a commitment to peace. More to come—stay tapped in.
